Presentation: Quality Indicator Implementation

There has been an increasing focus on utilising measurement of key performance indicators or ‘quality indicators’ to improve healthcare and its delivery with the aim of maximising health outcomes for patients, increasing transparency and equity of healthcare delivery and reducing healthcare expenditure. Potential for improvement in nephrology services with the use of quality indicators has been no exception. With patients across the spectrum of CKD and an abundance of data, quality indicators offer a systematic approach to improving access, delivery, safety and ultimately the quality of nephrology care. ANZSN and ANZDATA are committed to implementation of a quality indicator program across Australia and New Zealand with the aim to improve nephrology service delivery.
