Professor John Kanellis, MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACP, is Head of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Unit and Deputy Director of the Department of Nephrology, Monash Health, Melbourne. He is the former chair of the TSANZ Renal Transplant Advisory Committee, and the Pancreas and Islet Transplant Advisory Committee. He is former Honorary Secretary of the TSANZ. He has served on multiple national transplant committees including the OrganMatch Steering Committee; OTA AKX Strategic Governance Committee and the OTA Transplant Liaison Reference Group. He is a current member of the TSANZ National Virtual Cross Match Working group, and a Victorian State representative on RTAC.His research and clinical interests include antibody-mediated rejection, renal ischaemia-reperfusion injury, donor suitability, organ allocation, and kidney and pancreas transplantation.­
